I totally get both sides plus my dad’s birthday is close to mine too. So when my parents where still together we’d celebrate both together like Kronii and her dad

I understand both sides but I gotta side with Time Family, its not the time or the day or how many days, its the nature of the thing. Even if its something as trivial as moving up a grade (I know, I did a few myself) its still a special occasion! Why do we need all these mental gymnastics to justify *not* celebrating?

Can't exactly say since I feel relatable to them, and I would do the same as she does if I were in her shoes. But still, the fact that they wanted to celebrate her no matter how many times it happened and that Kronii cares about family sincerely is really wholesome. The main conclusion is that, like she said, she was right and I was somewhat right.

What do I think? Tbh, I think she's just acting for content. Otherwise, her logic was flawed. Her analogy using birthdays was unapplicable. Even if she graduated from her elementary school twice, it's still twice for her whole life. Totally different from birthdays which happens every single year. Saying that graduating twice is the same as celebrating birthdays twice doesn't make any sense. Unless she only celebrate her birthday only once for her whole life and doesn't want to celebrate it twice. I can understand about her trying to be considerate, but in this case I'm definitely on her parents' side. Because she didn't tell them, her parents missed one of the few celebratory moments of her daughter's life. Her parents clearly wanted to take photos or something, not simply saying congratulations. Memory is something more valuable the older you are.

I fully agree with Kronii on this. What would be the point of celebrating the same graduation twice just because the two schools happen to have a different number of years of elementary... if you graduate from elementary school twice, the second time isn't important in any way.

Sounds like they moved to a country with a different Elementary>Secondary transition point and she figured not to bother everyone about going through the motions again for mostly semantics, whereas parents probably figured this is a new start sort of thing and missing it either sends the wrong message to their social peers, or were marginalizing the fresh start. I can get it from both sides, with a personal stance that sits more in line with Kronii's views on it.

I think the best way to make someone understand is taking the angle of being a parent, (good) parents tend to wanna be there even for small stuff like this even if it is repeated, i hated my elementary graduation but my mom even cried lmao If i had a child i would wanna be there for them even if it had happened before But Kronii's heart is in the right place, she still should have at least told them tho 😂

She looks at it way too logically, your family would love to attend your 2nd graduation even if it had already happened. I understand how its pretty unnecessary to dress up and everything but family would do everything for you to be with you. Second graduation sounds cool tbh, I'd def invite my family and I had any inkling that was gonna graduate again next year, I would 100% put my all to achieve something to get an extra medal or certificate from that school.

I can see both sides here. Kronii was just doing her best to be nice while her family was looking out for her.
